InfoSyncWorld reviews the HTC Mogul and writes -
“Pros: Fastest tethered modem we’ve seen. Best-in-class address book integration. GPS for Sprint Navigator service.
Cons: Call quality could be better. We’d like more IM clients. “

MobileBurn - 05 November’07 - has reviewed the HTC Mogul and writes, “While it is not the perfect device for Joe Consumer, the HTC Mogul on Sprint is a fine device for business users and those that just require a bit more computing power than what is offered by non-smartphone devices.
While I consider HTC’s own T-Mobile Wing to be a bit more consumer friendly, there are few devices on the market today that can compare with the Mogul when it comes to getting down to business. It isn’t quite the same as having your laptop with you, but it is as close as you can probably get in a device that fits in your pocket.”

InfoSync - 7/2/2007 - has reviewed the HTC Mogul and writes, “Across the board, the HTC Mogul is a very good phone, though there is certainly some room for improvement. Windows Mobile 6 adds some convenient features, and PPC-6700 owners might want to upgrade for the improvements, but we were disappointed by poor call quality and a processor that couldn’t keep up with the demands of the bulky system. Not too disappointed, mind you, because the Mogul handles messaging as well as the best smartphones around, and business users won’t be disappointed by the PIM functions or the tethered modem support, especially after Sprint’s EV-DO rev. A upgrade. We’re also pleased to see HTC getting more recognition, as their hardware designs are classy and well-built. With so many features, and so many buttons, the phone could have been better, but it deserves its spot at the top of Sprint’s smartphone lineup.”

PC Magazine - 6/27/2007 - has reviewed the HTC Mogul and writes, “Do I sound slightly lukewarm about the Mogul? Maybe, but I honestly recommend it nonetheless. For Windows Mobile aficionados, folks who want to use Windows Media Player on their PCs, or anyone that needs Windows Mobile’s tight connection with Exchange 2007 servers—this is Sprint’s best option. In fact, it’s more powerful than the Motorola Q, and Sprint’s other smartphones are all beginning to look outdated. If the compromises of Windows Mobile daunt you and you want something simpler, look at the BlackBerry 8703e.”

Mobile Tech Review - 6/18/2007 - has reviewed the HTC Mogul and writes, “A very strong offering from Sprint, and a worthy, if not overdue, successor to the PPC-6700. The Mogul is manageable in size, powerful in terms of processing performance and storage memory and it has fast EVDO (with a promised upgrade to the faster Rev. A) for pleasingly fast data performance. WiFi will keep you connected when not in an EVDO coverage area (also handy if you turn down Sprint’s data plan), and Bluetooth 2.0 means you can use your favorite Bluetooth headset and car kit with the phone. We also like the fact there’s a Java runtime included, previously a rarity on CDMA Windows Mobile phones. There’s a lot to like about this PDA phone and our only complaints are the lack of an MMS client and the mediocre camera shots.”

LapTop Magazine - 6/18/2007 - has reviewed the HTC Mogul and writes, “So how is the Mogul as a phone? Adequate. Calls over Sprint’s network were mostly clear, with occasional fuzziness on the line. We found the speakerphone sufficiently loud and easy to activate. And both voice and data coverage were generally strong. Sprint claims the Mogul offers 20 percent more battery life than the PPC-6700, and we concur. This device lasted about two full days with moderate usage, which included a mix of phone calls, music listening, Web surfing, and checking e-mail.”

CNET - 6/17/2007 - has reviewed the HTC Mogul and writes, “Based on the poor speakerphone quality, we weren’t surprised that music playback through the unit’s speakers was poor. Songs sounded tinny and lacked volume and richness. On the other hand, we were impressed by the video quality. Pictures were clear on the Mogul’s sharp screen, and there wasn’t as much pixilation as we’re accustomed to seeing on smart phones. Web sites also looked great, and thanks to EV-DO speeds, we enjoyed fast load times.
The bottom line: The Sprint Mogul by HTC brings some needed design and feature updates to its predecessor and refreshes the carrier’s staid lineup of smart phones; it has some performance issues but is worth the upgrade.”
