BusinessWeek reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“Helio has struggled to sign up customers just like another youth-oriented wireless provider named Amp’d, which shut down abruptly last year. Like Helio, Amp’d had prominent backers. So even though Helio’s owners, SK Telecom and Earthlink, recently reaffirmed their commitment to the venture, there’s no guarantee they’ll put up with red ink forever. That means there is a risk that a great Helio phone like the Mysto could become an expensive paperweight. That said, if you’re already a Helio customer or drawn to the service’s unique multimedia services, the Mysto is definitely worth a look.”

HowardChui reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“What I really dislike about the Mysto is that it’s hard to hold without accidentally pressing something. The keylock does help a little but it works both ways. If you do want to press a button then you’ll have to undo the key lock. I suppose that you can get used to it but when you hand the Mysto to someone else, they’ll have problems using it.”

PCWorld reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“Overall, however, this phone has a lot going for it, from its slim shape to its array of fun, distracting features. Provided you’re willing to stray from a major carrier, it’s certainly a pocket-worthy device.”

LapTopMag reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“Overall, the Helio Mysto is a good choice for Helio customers looking for a sleek and feature-rich slider. It’s chock-full of apps and games that will keep anyone busy, and its 3G speeds were satisfactory. We wish the phone’s performance were a bit snappier and the camera took better pics, but otherwise the Mysto is a good midrange phone for hipsters.”

PCMag reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“Honestly, if I were choosing a carrier, the Mysto wouldn’t be enough to bring me over to Helio. The Mysto’s styling and haptic feedback keys are big selling points—the handset is worth seeing in person, in fact. It’s also a good choice for Helio fans who want their phone to double as a portable MP3 player. Unfortunately, there’s not enough else under the hood of this device to recommend the Mysto over a slew of comparable handsets from the major carriers.”

DigitalTrends reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“The Helio Mysto is an original, good-looking phone, packed with rare multimedia features, but the awkward design, heat-prone keypad and counterintuitive calling system make it less attractive than similar smartphones. It’s hard to justify the device on cool multimedia options alone.”

MobileBurn reviews the Helio Mysto and writes -
“The Helio Mysto is certainly an attractive handset, and the multimedia features are incredibly tempting. However, I found the user interface to be a bit difficult, specifically the inconsistent touch-sensitive keys and slider behavior. The battery life is satisfactory, but there’s nothing that really makes this handset stand out from the rest of the Helio lineup. I would give the Helio Mysto a Recommended rating overall.”

“Though we weren’t keen on the Helio Mysto’s touchy controls and call quality, we were impressed with its healthy array of features.”
