BlackBerry Curve Review at CNET
CNET has reviewed the BlackBerry Curve cell phone and they write, “Though it doesn’t bring Wi-Fi or 3G support, the BlackBerry Curve offers a best-of-breed design and a well-rounded set of features to make it an attractive device for consumers and mobile professionals alike.”
BlackBerry Curve Review at LapTop
LapTop has reviewed the BlackBerry Curve cell phone and they write, “The Curve’s biggest competition isn’t other BlackBerrys but the Samsung BlackJack, which currently costs only $149 with a mail-in rebate. The BlackJack’s 3G data connection is only a moderate advantage because of Windows Mobile’s slower browser, but its built-in camcorder and support for Cingular Video are definite pluses. On the other hand, the Curve offers a better e-mail experience, a sharper camera, and much longer battery life. Despite a few drawbacks, this is the best BlackBerry–and one of the most well-rounded smart phones–money can buy.”
BlackBerry 8800 Review at Xyzcomputing
Xyzcomputing has reviewed the BlackBerry 8800 cell phone and they write, “It was no surprise that in the BlackBerry 8800 RIM delivered the ultimate mobile email machine. Despite all the competition nothing can touch the Blackberry and, with the 8800 as its flagship, the company is poised for continued success in the business market. The phone’s style, performance, and long list of features means that it will be very attractive to non-business users as well, though the choice is harder for these people as products like Samsung’s Blackjack can do email well and it throws in some of what the 8800 leaves out.
The 8800 still caters to business users but reflects a growing concern with user-friendliness thanks to the influence of the Pearl. This trend is one that will broaden the appeal of the Blackberry and make it possible to build the right phone for any user. The 8800 is quite high-end and still business-oriented but it is hard not to like it if you value its strengths. More casual users and those in need of a camera (as all as keyboard fanatics) may have to look elsewhere, but Blackberry’s core user group, as well a mobile email fans, will be impressed with the product.”
Features Include:
- Front trackball navigation
- GPS
- BlackBerry Maps
- Media player
- microSD cards
BlackBerry 8800 Review at PCMag
PCMag has reviewed the BlackBerry 8800 cell phone and they write, “If ease of use and e-mail are paramount in your world, the 8800 is the ultimate device at the moment, and the music and video players are just good enough to be fun. But power users may lean towards the Samsung BlackJack instead, with its higher-speed modem and better music and video syncing with Windows Media Player.”

- Front trackball navigation

BlackBerry Pearl Review - Brighthand
Brighthand has reviewed the BlackBerry Pearl and they write - “There’s no doubt about it, the Pearl is a huge step forward for RIM. This smartphone offers features that many current and potential BlackBerry users have been wanting for years. But, for all its progress, I think this company still has a ways to go. Its implementation of some of the new multimedia features in the Pearl is a bit clumsy and are in real need of polish. And it still lacks features business users want, like better and easier access to Microsoft Office files. At the same time, the feature that was RIM’s biggest advantage for many years–push email–is available now on many other devices. All in all, I think this is a decent smartphone, and certainly better RIM’s first one, the BlackBerry 7100 series. But it still needs some work if it’s going to stand up to the competition.”
BlackBerry Pearl Review at PhoneScoop
PhoneScoop has reviewed the BlackBerry Pearl and they write - “The Pearl is a fantastic piece of hardware, and for Blackberry users it is a serious upgrade in size and style over whatever previous models they own. But new users who are into trying out a Blackberry because of the sleek form may want to look at smartphones from other manufacturers if you’re going to do more than read your email and make phone calls. Most modern smartphones have more user friendly software and can run some sort of push email client that would make reading email just as user friendly as the Blackberry.”
RIM Blackberry 8703e Review at InfoSync
InfoSync has reviewed the RIM Blackberry 8703e and here’s the verdict - “The Blackberry 8703e is the best last-generation Blackberry — and as such (and in light of the snazzy new Pearl), it feels a bit left behind. The most advanced feature this updated device offers — the tethered modem support over Verizon’s EV-DO network — is truly noteworthy, but the messaging and PIM interfaces, once the standard-bearers of simplicity, pale compared to those on the latest Windows Mobile devices. RIM aficionados with a hankering for an old-school 3G BlackBerry with a full QWERTY keypad will likely warm to the 8703e, but now that we’ve seen the future of RIM handsets, the 8703e can’t help but seem dated.”
BlackBerry Pearl Review at PopSci
PopSci has reviewed the BlackBerry Pearl and they write - “It is amazing, because I’m doing it right now, using the new BlackBerry Pearl, which officially hits the market today. True, there have been other devices before this one that have integrated my wish list of technologies, but the Pearl is by far the most elegant and tiny version I’ve had the pleasure of using.”
